- This is ok except you could connect 6 & 8>20, 20> 6 & 8. This is considered a
- true null modem cable used between two DTE devices (computer to computer).

- Modems are considered DCE devices and are connected with straight through
- cables such as the one you disassembled and do not require 'crossing'.
